  Terry, I don't know if I'm an intellectual. I just found this sitewww.intelligencesquared.com and have not got into it yet. However, I just read the whole discussion, and what I'm getting out of it is that many intelligent persons have come to the conclusion that we just can't know with any certainty about subjects i.e. God, Jesus, Bible, Judaism, christianity, Islam, religion, and metaphysics.

  I'm just now getting into the book, The Ayn Rand Lexicon, Objectivism from A to Z. edited by Harry Binswanger.

  Ayn's discussion on Atheism and Agnosticism have challenged my past understanding of what those two terms mean.

  the content of the program presented at the circuit assembly: safeguard your spirituality served as a re-affirmation that the wt/gb is loosing the grip of rank & file.

  they are becoming boulder and boulder in their blatant use of mind control techniques; in my opinion, their mind control techniques used to be more subtle.

  but the content of the program in this past assembly clearly reflected that they are acting out of frustration and desperation.

  my mother, like all the dubs, excels at dropping casual sentences here and there designed to suck me back into the borg.... her latest subtle (not) attempt to use my father's death as the drawing card was to send an sms saying only: "death is so unnatural".. of course i remember all those public talks, so i know exactly where she's coming from: we were made to live forever so no wonder death is so painful for us to deal with.. but honestly, what planet are they on????

  iknowall558, Thanks for that link, very educational and truthful, reasonable, insightful, it takes courage to speak out like he did. The end of his discussion about Jesus' feelings if he was to walk into St.peter's square and how he would be treated by the Pope is spot on.

  Terry's Amazing Stories

  am i the only one who think's a lot of the amazing stories terry come up with are fabricated or completely untrue?

  every week he tells us how he by chance ran into a jw, mormon, evangilcial, etc.

  and comes up with witty answers every time to counter every point they make and than have them running in fear.

  Hi BlueGrass! Here is a couple of things that I have learned about Terry. One, when he was young, he did prison time because he believed in what the Watchtower taught about neutrality, and that was not easy to do.

  Secondly, he is well read and shares what he has learned with those of us who have an interest in his topics. Most of those topics force one to "THINK."

  This why I respect Terry, he puts himself out there and is willing to change his mind when others respond to his topics.

  He has an active mind, and for me, I have used him like a sponge whenever he post's a topic.

  Terry if you are reading this, thanks and keep those tough topics coming, I look forward to them.

  BlueGrass, Terry is not the only one with amazing stories. Since 07 you have been lurking and I'm sure their are other amazing posters that you have read.

  wt cruelty to sickly older jw's in field service yesterday

  yesterday i went to the local mc donalds for breakfast and sat next to the window closest to the sidewalk.

  and see a tribe of jw's heading to the kingdum hall about a mile away.

  what caught my eye was an older jw using a walker cane and stopping about every 10 feet.

  Johnny, we use to have a special needs day for the elderly when I was serving. That day was tuesday 1 pm. Book study was done and then 1 hour of handing out tracts and invitations to our hall. I took the lead on this as I was off on tuesdays

  I would take the elderly outside in the good weather and we would stay on the corners, no long walking tours, just hanging near the house so bathroom needs could be close by.

  What if that grandma needed to use the bathroom? Who would assist her and where?

  As an elder in the local area I was charged with the care of arranging visits to the sick and elderly in hospitals etc.

  I would never let that grandma walk all that way. I would stay by her side untill just before she got tired and then had her sit down and I would get the car and take her from there.

  Good job in exposing them for their uncaring attitude toward the elderly.

  Blondie, a generation of us have already come and gone. Some gone to their rest, others unto old age like me and my wife. A new generation as come after us and hearing the same old story again.

  All those letters written back in the first century were meant to be fulfilled at that time only, not in our day. And so, all that Kingdom, anointed, invitation to come has been a big disappointment for all those in the first century.

  Now, all kinds of evangelist have come and gone, also some still remain, i.e. watchtower, singing the same old song that has disappeared along with the hopes of all those who cling to it over the centuries.

  History and time have shown that it is a message of men who are dreamers passing the message along to one generation to the next to where it has reached us today.

  This is a comment that you will not hear from all those evangelist who preach and fleece the unsuspecting.

  my question to christians who doubt the devils existence: why would jesus bother casting out demons if they dont exist?.

  why would paul say in romans 8:37-39 "...in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

  When you use the Bible to get your belief system across you are using circular reasoning. I believe it because the Bible tells me so is no proof of what you believe.

  First study the history of where and how the Bible came to be and try to find the original copies if you can, you will be the first.

  love is spoken of as though it were an actual.....thing.. the discourse surrounding "love" is a dishonest framing of an argument based on a non-context.. .

  love is an emotion.

  it is the strongest possible positive emotion.. where does it come from?.

  WOW!!! Just found out from someone who went to the one day assembly....

  hello friends... just found out that at the recent one day assembly they are now really discouraging people from getting married!!!!!

  they will lose young ones like crazy if they start telling them that they cannot get married...what are these sexually frusterated young people to do??

  you cannot masterbate, you cannot have sex outside of marriage (not that i would encourage it either, but...), now you cannot even get married?????

  They are re-cyling old material for the new ones who have no idea. In the 33 years that I served, I have heard and given those same kind of talks before.

  Lady, who is proof reading the outline? Don't tape the talks, where are the talks coming from? Aren't they coming from the slave? Aren't some of the talks taped themselves?

  Double speak is their major in English.

  Blueblades Married 42 years and going strong with my wife, 65 and 70 years of age. We didn't listen to them back then. We have two beautiful sons in their 30"s and we are all out.
